1) http://www.americanseasons.com
This is a website for a restaurant on Nantucket Island. The theme of this restaurant is farm to table cooking and I think the theme of the website accurately represents this theme as well. I think its very important that the website design is cohesive with the business itself. I also think this website uses graphics really well. There are a lot of pictures but not so many that you feel overwhelmed, there is also a good balance between pictures of the food and picture of the atmosphere so therefore the viewer gets a glimpse at both aspects of the restaurant. It is also very easy to navigate and all the information that someone viewing the website might need is easy to find. I also like that there are links to the restaurants social media websites, but the buttons are designed so that they blend in with the color scheme of the website as well.
2) http://www.beaucage.com/
This is a website for a Salon & Spa located on Newbury St. in Boston. This website is very different from the other website I chose but I still think it is very well designed. Even there is little color used on the website, I think for a business like this it works. By using a lot of white and light colors the website exerts a very tranquil and calming theme, which is exactly how someone should feel when they go to a spa or get their hair done. Also with this website, the navigation is very easy and all the information posted on the website is relevant and useful.

How Do I Use The Internet?
I can't remember the last time I went a day without using the internet in some way. When I wake up in the morning, one of the first things I do is check my phone to see what the weather is outside. I then check up on all social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) too see what I have missed while I was sleeping. The internet has already been involved with the majority of my activities before I even get out of bed. Once I do get up, I use the internet in order to listen to music while I get myself ready for the day. I also ALWAYS check my email every morning in case any of my professors sent out any emails regarding todays classes. In regards to my classes, in order for me to access any and all information I need to use the internet. I use the internet to log into MySuffolk account, which then lets my log into BlackBoard. I also need the internet to do research for class assignments.
Throughout the day I am constantly logging in and checking up on my social media accounts, weather it be on my computer or on my Iphone, which is connected to the internet at all times. When I have down time I will check up on some of my favorite blogs, or browse on sites like BuzzFeed and Pinterest. Unlike most girls, I HATE going into stores and going shopping, I much prefer to do it online. So, the majority of the things I buy come from online stores. I am also a huge sports fan so if I missed a game the night before I will use the internet to check the scores of my favorite teams. Another way in which I used the internet is to purchase books via my Kindle.
While the majority of the time the way I use the internet is for my own entertainment, for someone like my mom it is very different. My mom does not belong to any social media accounts, so she does not have the "responsibility" of updating these on a daily basis. For her, the majority of her internet usage comes from work in which she uses her email to contact all her employers. She also does all her banking online and pays the majority of her bills online as well. For her, the internet is used just for business things, and not entertainment like myself.
